Elle Cover Story (May 2011) – “Reece is the word”

Words by Alice Wignall

Photographed by Ben Hassett

Styling by Heather Mary Jackson

“Actress. Award winner. Producer. Mother. Star. Reece Witherspoon is the woman who makes it all work. Now in love, and engaged she can’t have a care in the world, right? Don’t you believe it.”

It’s an EXCITING feeling. [somebody saying] “You’re the one.” And it’s a SURPRISE. You’re surprised somebody want’s to be with you because, boy, I’ve got a lot of QUIRKS and WRINKLES.

I do think that’s probably the HARDEST part of this whole business. The JUDGEMENT and the rejection, constantly. It doesn’t ever stop. Judging. Rejecting. They can really KICK ya, you know?

When we start MEASURING women on their APPEARANCE…We’re just too hard on each other. Women need to stop TEARING each other apart. There’s plenty of room for all of us, plenty of men

I think I like Reece. She’s the kind of girl you could imagine as your friend..who you wanted to hate because she is so beautiful, but cant help but love because she is so damn nice! My fave Reece quote from the article – “I would probably summarise my entire personality by saying I’m very…cardigan” – and I’m reminded why I like her….because she is my cardy, pop on one of her films and I instantly feel comfy!

Tatler (May 2011) – “Front Row: Here’s looking at…Cara Delevingne”

“The latest star in the modelling firmament – written by Richard Dennen”

“WHO IS SHE? – The 18 year old new face of Burberry

WHY DO WE CARE? – Cara Delevingne is so hot right now – traffic-stopping hot.”

Sarah Doukas from Storm also represents my big sister Poppy and I was at school with Sarah’s daughter Genevieve. She spotted me when she was bringing Gen to school.

And before she knew it, life was revolving around shoots with Kate Moss for the supermodel’s Topshop collection.

I was a little nervous but as soon as I met Kate properly I realised that she is a really cool and very sweet person.

Elle Preview (April 2011) – “Meet Jessie J”

” Jessie J’s first video caused a stir. ‘It was called a “lez fest”. They asked me if that’s what my life’s like’, she laughs. ‘Of course it’s not. I don’t often go to Asda in a leotard!”

“…her track ‘Party in the USA’ for Miley Cyrus sold in excess of four million copies in America. Subsequent songwriting gigs for Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake followed, the latter then declaring Jessie ‘the best singer in the world right now'”

” Indeed, if you’ve ever wondered where Britain’s answer to Katy Perry and Lady Gaga was hiding, look no further. So what does she wear to Asda? ‘A big baggy cool top, a pair of skinnies and some killer heels'”

So what are your thoughts on fresh new UK artist Jessie J? Is she really Britain’s answer to Katy Perry and Lady Gaga or is she a two hit wonder? Personally I am loving her swagger – swagger without being┬ápretentious, and doesn’t seem as try-hard as Lady Gaga…
